The casing for this turbine is built from concrete, while the runner is constructed from aluminium and fibre glass. The turbine efficiency is about 70% and it possesses a number of advantages over its steel counterparts.
In order to share their micro-hydro technology, Janathakshan have made a video demonstrating the steps required to build the concrete turbine. It does not provide all the details, but gives a good overview of the system.

You can apply for project support if your project or exchange concept demonstrates how renewable energy technologies can be integrated into food value chains not only to minimise the negative environmental impacts (e.g. the contamination of soil and water), but also to improve the social and economic capital (e.g. greater employment opportunities) of the local population in Southern and South East Asia.
