Micro Hydro Experts from South and Southeast Asia met in Bandung, Indonesia

More than 30 participants representing various segments in the community hydro sector from 12 countries attended the gathering. The event addressed key areas that would support the development of the micro and pico hydro sector in the region. The objectives of this year’s gathering were to offer members a space for networking and knowledge sharing with each other in person, to reflect on what had been achieved, to formulate future objectives and to discuss how the network could be strengthened in the future. The participants also had the opportunity to visit projects and manufacturers to share the experiences of the Indonesian hydropower sector.
The event was hosted by AHB & AP Entec, coordinated by the organisational team of the HPNet and supported by the WISIONS initiative. A summarizing report will be published on the networks webpage soon.
Results of the Practice-to-Policy Dialogue on Micro Hydro Energy for Myanmar

Lessons learned from practical experiences were offered by policy and practitioner experts from Indonesia, Nepal and SEvent Videori Lanka to a wide and interested audience. More than 70 participants attended, ranging from representatives from the Myanmar national and regional governments, to members of the civil society, science and media sectors.

The event is part of the SEPS exchange activitivity Micro Hydro for Myanmar: Practice-to-Policy Dialogue with Indonesia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka (SEPS 9)and was hosted by the Renewable Energy Association of Myanmar (REAM) and the Hydro Empowerment Network.

Together with members of the Hydro Empowerment Network, we will give a short presentation on "Micro Hydro and Decentralized Renewable Energy for Myanmar: A Practice-to-Policy Dialogue, Applying Lessons from Indonesia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka". The global Energy Access Practitioner Network was formed as part of the Sustainable Energy for All initiative by the United Nations Foundation. The network focuses on community-level electrification for productive purposes, incorporating specific market-based applications for health, agriculture, education, small business, communites and household solutions.
